Graduate Non-Degree (GND) Application Tips

  1. Use Internet Explorer (at least version 5.0).
  2. Carefully read all instructions.
  3. Create an ApplyYourself account if you do not already have one. If you have already created a PIN with ApplyYourself, you may use the one you already have. Creating an account requires a first and last name, an e-mail address, a birth date, and a postal code. You may select your own PASSWORD.
  4. Login to the online application (this is a secure environment).
  5. Select the GRADUATE APPLICATION
  6. PLEASE COMPLETE ONLY THE FOLLOWING SELECTIONS of the application and USE DROP-DOWN OPTIONS when included:
    • PERSONAL INFORMATION
    • EDUCATIONAL HISTORY
    • EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
      • Select GRADUATE NON-DEGREE PROGRAM for “ACADEMIC PROGRAM
      • Select GRADUATE NON-DEGREE PROGRAM for “MAJOR
      • Select your INDIVIDUAL ACADEMIC INTEREST for “ACADEMIC INTEREST
    • WORK EXPERIENCE
  7. PLEASE DO NOT COMPLETE the following sections:
    • TEST SCORES
    • PERSONAL STATEMENT
    • PUBLICATIONS
    • RECOMMENDATIONS
  8. You do not need to complete the application in one sitting. You may save your responses and return to the application at a later time, using your SAME PIN and PASSWORD.
  9. Please check your application for accuracy because incorrect information will cause significant delays.
  10. When you are finished using the application, click on the SUBMIT APPLICATION option (upper right hand corner). After submitting the application, which includes completing the confirmation section and paying the application fee, you will receive a message indicating SUBMISSION COMPLETE. Please be sure to use the LOGOUT option in the same area of the application.
  11. If you have problems, click on the TECH SUPPORT option at the top of the page.


Quick Reference Guide for Ease in Application Entry

The following is a list of helpful address information/tips:

  1. Do not use punctuation of any kind for addresses or city fields.
  2. Do not spell out a numeric value, such as fourth. (Example, Fourth St should be 4th St)
  3. Common street suffixes are:

  5. Directional information for delivery should be entered abbreviated as: North (N), South (S), East (E) and West (W).
  6. The correct format for Rural Route is RR 2 Box 152; do not use the words Rural, Number, No, or the pound sign (#).
  7. Post Office Box address should be output as PO Box (such as PO Box 11890).
  8. Do not abbreviate a city’s name (i.e. Fort Wayne should not be entered as Ft. Wayne rather be spelled out). Indianapolis must be spelled out, no abbreviations are acceptable.
  9. State Abbreviations are two characters (i.e. Indiana = IN).
  10. United States is abbreviated USA.
